During the recent Giving Tuesday campaign through the Copper Shores Community Health Foundation, the Elaine Bacon Literacy Program received over $4,200 in community donations. We are grateful for this strong show of support and for the many individuals who helped share our work and encourage giving. Giving Tuesday offers local nonprofit organizations an opportunity to connect with the community and highlight the impact of their programs. Support from Copper Shores once again helped amplify the generosity of local donors, allowing our programs to continue growing in response to community needs.
This success reflects the dedication of our volunteers, board members, partners, and supporters who continue to strengthen literacy and learning opportunities in the Copper Country. These funds will support English literacy and conversation programs, cultural exchange through International Neighbors, multilingual learning opportunities, and family and intergenerational literacy activities.
Beyond the programs themselves, this support helps create welcoming spaces where people can build confidence, practice communication skills, and form meaningful relationships across cultures and generations. As our community becomes increasingly diverse, these opportunities remain essential to creating connection and belonging.
Elaine Bacon Literacy Program is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and relies on the generosity of individuals, foundations, and community partners to sustain accessible programming for learners of all backgrounds and income levels.
To everyone who helped promote Giving Tuesday and to those who donated – thank you for helping strengthen literacy and community in our region.
With appreciation,
