On December 3rd, the Elaine Bacon Literacy Program participated in its first ever Giving Tuesday event at the Copper Country Mall. Giving Tuesday takes place annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving and provides an opportunity for local tax exempt nonprofits to encourage people to give back to their communities.

The Copper Shores Community Health Foundation, sponsor of this event, “amplified” the total collected so that our proportional share was more than $3500! This is a  resounding success and the result of hard work by our dedicated volunteers who helped set up this event and spread the word about it. The generosity of the Copper Country people not only will allow us to continue our work to teach English to international residents, but it gives us an opportunity to expand our efforts and promote our mission in different directions.

To all who helped promote this event and to those who donated—Thank you!
