Since 1989, the Houghton and Hancock communities have been celebrating the rich cultural diversity of the Keweenaw. This year’s theme is:

The World is One

The Elaine Bacon Literacy Program and International Neighbors will carry its new banner in the parade. Members, non-members, Americans, International residents—EVERYONE—is welcome to join us at the head of the Parade.

Floats, bands, dancers and marchers carrying banners and flags of more than 60 nations will leave Quincy Green in Hancock at 11 a.m., cross the lift bridge and move up Shelden Avenue in Houghton to the Dee Stadium.

At the Dee, international students from Michigan Tech and Finlandia University will be serving food of their countries. For more information, visit the Parade of Nations website or email
