Hello, my name is Patria, and I’m from Indonesia. I’m thrilled to be part of this club! Without realizing it, I’ve now been a member for two years. I joined because my friend, Puti, who lives in Michigan, invited me. As a non-native English speaker, being in this club has been incredibly helpful for practicing my English. I know my English skills still need improvement, but Randy and Jill, who lead our meetings, are always supportive and understanding.
I especially look forward to our Tuesday night meetings, where I meet people from all over the world. Everyone in this club is amazing, with expertise in different fields, and they’re always willing to share their knowledge.
Even though I sometimes miss meetings due to work, I’m always excited to attend and make time when I can. When I log into Zoom, Randy, Jill, and my friends always greet me with, “Good evening, Patria,” and I respond, “Good morning, everyone!” Yes, Indonesia and Michigan have a 12-hour time difference, but that doesn’t stop me from enjoying every moment with this wonderful group.
