All classes are free and open to any level of English language proficiency. Currently, all classes are still online due to the pandemic; however, as the pandemic lessons its impact we have begun to open up meetings as participants wish. However, please maintain your vaccinations and abide by CDC policy. Our schedule is in flux as new tutors and students join the program, and a few tutors have retired and/or moved away from the area so please contact Denise or the tutors directly for up-to-date information about our offerings. Individual and group classes are available several days a week. Please contact Denise Heikinen (deniseheikinen at icloud.com) for information about how you can join the program.
Contact Jan Handler [janet.r.handler at gmail.com] about how to connect with a conversation partner, someone who can talk with you on an informal basis about once a week. Conversation partners can answer questions about life in general in this area or in America, or where to buy the best oranges in town, etc.
Please contact Jill Burkland or Randy Freisinger directly if you wish to join their class on Zoom at 10:00 AM on Wednesdays. Their class focuses on speaking and listening. You can reach Jill at jillburkland@gmail.com or Randy at rfreisi@mtu.edu.
Beth Flynn’s classes from 10:00 to 11:30 on Tuesdays focus on reading, you can reach Beth at eflynn at mtu.edu.
