On October 15th, International Neighbors took a field trip to Albion Station in Laurium where Richard Dana showed us his bottle collection displayed in beautiful wooden cabinets. He explained that commercial beer and mineral water as well as medicines were distributed to the Copper Country in handblown bottles produced in a matter of seconds each by using molds. These bottles are now rare and costly.
Richard then invited us into his shop and demonstrated how he makes beautiful handblown bottles, ornaments, and sculptures.
